PostSubject: Indoor practice facilities on site (almost)?   Wed Jan 13, 2010 6:36 pm

Article on the front page of today's Worcester News saying that Worcester Uni are in the process of acquiring neighbouring sites on Hylton Rd. to build a 2,000 spectator indoor sports centre. It will be used for various activities, and the Uni say they hope to further relationships with, and provide indoor facilities for, a number of local sports clubs, including WCCC.

Now that the bank has built alongside the Severn I guess they are confident it won't flood.

Indoor practice facilities within half a mile of New Rd.!! Malvern College will be pleased.

Excellent news

Are we talking about the old fruit market and westside snooker centre sites between the WEN and railway viaduct?

Anybody from that side of the Severn or keen on snooker will know that area is very prone to mysterious fires...

The fruit market and the ex-car showroom, evidently.

Yep, apparently the site of the Westside Snooker Club is not included.
