| Gibbs and Symonds batting together, I'm surprised there isn't a minibar parked behind the keeper somewhere _________________ My first match: Headley, Turner, Stimpson, B d'Oliveira, Hemsley, Yardley, Ormrod, Wilcock, Gifford, Holder, Carter

| Had to stop watching this after about 4 overs this morning. Continually playing the same record after a boundary was staring to irritate. At least that hospital radio reject who was on the turntables the last time I went to a Twenty20 at New Road had about 4 records.
The crowd are strange in these games. They just seem to cheer anything regardless of which side has just had a success. I can never tell who is the home side. |

| It's difficult to get into the IPL, I've got no allegiance to any player or team. There's an interesting element to watch one or two players and a couple of duals but I haven't watched a game start to finish and the ones I've seen bits of > I couldn't care who won or lost. _________________ WCCC : County Champions Elect 2012

| I'm just watching to see Hicky or Vik; and to watch Mandira make it obvious that she is reading autocue now |

| For once Simon Hughes is spot on. Can't argue with his thoughts there. _________________ My first match: Headley, Turner, Stimpson, B d'Oliveira, Hemsley, Yardley, Ormrod, Wilcock, Gifford, Holder, Carter

| I watched a little bit yesterday afternoon and could not help noticing that the advertising bilboards were the very best flashing neon/lcd or whatever that money could buy but the score board was less technical than the one at Himbleton when I played for them, ie a black board with a few hooks and some slates with numbers on! |

| Two stand out paragraphs for me. And now there are two new franchises, bought for a staggering $700m. It beggars belief that consortiums have paid this much for a non-existent team and zero fan base, but the marketing of the 'opportunity' was clever Let us hope, for the sakes of the blinkered new investors, that the rumour that the whole exercise is just lining the pockets of the IPL commissioner Lalit Modi and his extended family isn't proved to be correct. What rumour ? This throw-away line should send shivers down the backs of all administrators toying with the idea of getting involved. I read today that Essex are now looking at the options. I'm sure everyone is being ultra cautious after Stanford. _________________ WCCC : County Champions Elect 2012

| Two points: Isn't Simon Hughes working for ITV in the IPL? I am afraid that Simon is heading for a libel suit with comments like that aimed at billionaires....if he gets sued, Serchers' comment comes down right away [Goldsmith v. Pressdram Limited- distribution of another's libel is a libel in itself] |

| Forgive the double posting, but I notice that ITV's coverage has changed again...Matt Smith's agent having rescued him has meant that Jim Rosenthal has appeared as the host. Which is GOOD- the worship of comparative youth, the F Factor and the demographic charts replaced by a bloke who may host boxing, but whose hobby is cricket- Jim plays for the Lord's Taverners and the Bunburys, for heaven's sake! He has also been shabbily treated by ITV in the recent past- they actually failed to renew his contract a few winters ago, and he popped up on R5 for a few weeks, until the weight of Internet and print media led to ITV re-employing him without animosity on either side. He should have been doing this job from the start- I didn't see Mandira today...now does that mean that Hicky is now officially ITV's longest serving living cricket commentator?? |

| Still far too much hype from the commentators, as we would all expect. If I meet that bugler I'll ring his neck! IF I watch much more, I'll have the sound off. I think I'll manage to follow it by myself. _________________ My first match: Headley, Turner, Stimpson, B d'Oliveira, Hemsley, Yardley, Ormrod, Wilcock, Gifford, Holder, Carter

| Haven't watched a ball. Made up cricket ( with made up results ? ) by made up teams. Not remotely interested. |

| Lost interest after a week, but to be fair if there were heroes of mine playing, like Hick then I'd watch a bit more. _________________ WCCC : County Champions Elect 2012
