PostSubject: Kiddy game v Nothing to Lose Team   Sat Jul 24, 2010 7:55 pm

V S Solanki*(3), M M Ali (Cool, A N Kervezee (5), S Al Hasan (75), D K H Mitchell* (27), JG Cameron (16), S H Choudhry (17), OB Cox (10), G M Andrew (14), J D Shantry (11), A Richardson (9) and R A Jones (25).

Another pointless match against a team of who-are-yous. Oh, it's not pointless ! They can ruin a professional team's season and have nothing to lose but everyting to gain. I hope we stuff the hell out of them but the way we've played 40 overs so far it's Worcester who are the Nothing to Lose Team.

As bizarre as it sounds, there will be a segment of the crowd wanting desperately for us to win- but expecting us to lose.

EDIT: A heavy defeat today at Old Trafford and back to back games means that they might collapse tomorrow- or might just come out with both barrels loaded...

With Hasan bound to play, plus additional spin from Moeen I expect Colin to miss out today. Currently working on the family and trying to convince them to have a day out in Kiddy but not too hopeful ...

Colin? Who is Colin? Why is 'Colin' called Colin?

Umm..... Colin Choudhry Have waited years to see him play.

Looking through the Unicorn squad on cricinfo and can't really see any stand-out options for potential signings. The only guy with any pedigree and a decent record was Durston who's left the squad.

If there's one guy to keep an eye on it might be Zoheb Sharif, 27 yrs, with an average of 40 from 25 innings. But like any CV which shows too many jobs you do wonder why he hasn't established himself after playing for Derby, Essex, Surrey and Sussex. Yet he's got two 1st class tons.

Zoheb

There's another young Zimbabwean on the radar, Glenn Querl. Dreadful record to date though.

Is this the first game on a Worcestershire ground since the 2004 C&G QF where all those attending have had to pay a ground admission ?

Today it is not a Worcestershire ground. It is the away fixture for Worcestershire against this opposition so it is the Unicorns home ground.

Ithink even His divine power might not be enough!

Is it the same problem again, trying to switch tempo and pressure in such a short space of time is too much for such an in-experienced squad?

Shakib goes for 72 off 61. A top signing so far. 140 with 17 to go so 250 is still on.

Just seen the team, Colin is playing so we're obviously going for a spinning wicket.

Very short boundaries at Kidderminster though if my memory serves.

However, it is a ground in Worcestershire and so Sunbeam may be correct?

Can't argue with 277.
