| In the words of the Chairman " the season's been a bit disappointing " ! Still, never mind, " Bumpy's happy with the players " ! Season over on 26th June. |

| Both Somerset and Kent won having lost early wickets which is the sign of a strong , confident team. In all honesty could we chase 160+ from 27-4 ? |

| We should give some of the other lads a run out on Sunday now, Vik possibly injured anyhow! I would play Kervezee, Knappett and Fisher for a start. |

At the risk of being accused of excessive optimism, the season is not over. Yes we are out of two competitions but the third is only half way through and the fourth yet to start. The season has not been poor for a variety of reasons, form, injuries, a cosy set up I am sure have all contributed to it in varying amounts but to say the season is over, if one as a fan have no stomach for the fight, why should one expect the team to have? Before the answer, because that is what they are paid for comes back, money is a poor motivator and they are paid to pay cricket to the best o the ability, and at th moment they have, it has not been good enough and there are ways of improving this but they are all fulfilling their financial contracts. I was there last night and saw a team try their best. All of them. Kabby on reflection cost us the game as much as anything else but to see the catch he took, one would not question his commitment to playing, or anyone elses for that matter. |

| Re Vik's injury. Radio H and W said it wasn't his knee, but I can't remember what they said . _________________ My first match: Headley, Turner, Stimpson, B d'Oliveira, Hemsley, Yardley, Ormrod, Wilcock, Gifford, Holder, Carter

| Totally agree with xray when he says the team all gave of their best last night. And that`s what`s so worrying! We have some `lovely lads`who are just not up to turning in good performances on anything like a regular basis. They are much like the Warriors in the other game-not quite good enough. I keep on asking the powers that be if that is because of bad judgement by the Director of Cricket or because his budget is severely restricted.I don`t get an answer but like to think it is the latter. If not........ |

| I'm confused...
If we're "definitely" out of the T20 why are William Hill still offering 20-1 on us winning it (along with 5 other betting companies I can find at various odds...)?
It can't be that they expect some bets to be placed in ignorance by people who don't know we can't win it because they're all only offering odds on 11 teams e.g. Middlesex, Glamorgan etc. aren't available as they're definitely out?
Maybe they just haven't updated their books.
Strangely I'm not tempted by 150-1 quoted for us to win the Championship... even each way. |

| Can we still make it into the top tier for next season, if we finish third ? We could end up on 12 pts with Warks and possibly a better run rate, or would we still be behind Warks because they beat us ?
What gets me is that when you look at the other teams we've got a very competitive looking squad. Even Warks aren't half the team they used to be and they don't have any superstars, in fact they look ordinary. Are our guys just under-performing or is it that I tend to look at them with rose tinted spectacles ?
Agree with warrior, give Knappett and Tulip a run out, and might as well use it for others just to get some experieince eg Arif, Jones jnr, Mehraj & Wheeldon. It would be totally pointless sending out the same team - we know what they can do. I'm sure xray & rupert are right about the current team doing their best, but they aren't good enough so lets start planning for next year.
Sky text says Solanki's problem is his back, not his knee. Edit : Damn. Just remembered that next year we've got two T20 comps and in 7 years (or whatever it is) we've never really worked this format out. What a depressing thought. |

| Serchers - it goes on head to head and the Bears beat us twice so we are out!!! _________________ GA Hick MBE, gone but not forgotten!!! | Yes, but thinking of the pro20 next year, top 3 teams from each league go into first division. Or did you mean that one as well ? _________________ WCCC : County Champions Elect 2012

| We seem to have gone rather off topic with this discussion which is supposed to be about the Warwick T20 match but has developed into a debate that should really be under the Management section.
Therefore, unless someone has anything else to say about the Warwick match, I will shortly lock this discussion and put the relevant posts into the Management forum.
