I hope you will indulge me- this is not that much to do with cricket at all.

If you take a peek, my age in the little box to the left has changed...to an age with a '0' on the end and quite a significant age indeed... Life Begins Again as they say.

It's humbling...I am sitting here about to head off to bed and it hits you- I am 40! I'm still a 20-something in my head...I feel actually quite.....odd. When I was small and 'big school' began at 11- an impossibly large and mature age to conceive of- 40 was my random concept of middle age. A contemplation of pensions, Trugel, gardening and death.

And then you blink- and its here! My first memory of Worcs. cricket was being 4 or 5 and watching Sunday Cricket. It was odd- 11 men in white fielding in front of a large large church behind some trees- one them dark and with white hair; the others all white and with dark hair. And so ends my first view of Dolly- another 40 years will go by [if I am lucky] and he will still be my ultimate hero of this cricket club.

And now look at where we are and where cricket is. And all of that in the blink of an eye. Where have all the years gone?
