Spotted this on cricinfo, all counties will have a Merlyn which "is a machine that is almost as good as facing Muttiah Muralitharan or Shane Warne in the flesh according to ECB coaching staff"

This might be very encouraging news for the likes of the Surrey 'spinner', Batty and Sth Africa'a Paul Harris. What's going to happen is a generation of batsmen will grow up facing balls that spin in the nets and then they'll go into matches against guys who don't spin the ball much at all. Making these types of bowlers absolutely deadly with their straight ones

Rolling out this initiative should help to keep a few more on the ECB payroll for a bit longer then !
