| Just watched the Clough night on BBC2 which got me thinking about my sporting heroes. Obviously Clough, but for me I'd add Momammed Ali, Seve, Borg, Faldo, Ovett and Daly and then a list of B-grade players.
Also wondering why I haven't got any from the past 15-20 years. Is it something to do with age ? Perhaps I idolised sportsmen when I was younger but these days they tend to be younger than me and their achievements don't impress me as it did before. So, are your sporting heroes only ever going to be older than you ? |

| My top 6? Graham Hill, Basil D'Oliveira, Tom Graveney, Rebecca Adlington, Sir Steven Redgrave, Jack Charlton. I could write 26- those were the first 6 into my head! |

| Opps. Forgot about Botham. Hick would definately be in my Div 2 but I couldn't define him as a hero as much as I admired what he did and the way he went about things. Depends on the definition of hero I suppose. _________________ WCCC : County Champions Elect 2012

| Ian Botham, JPR Williams, Graham Hill, Barry Sheen, Malcolm Marshall, and David Duckham (he had the best drift sidestep in the world!) I tried for ages to emulate it and all that happened was theat I ran straight into the oppposing tackler who bought nothing. Strange how mine appear to in the main be deceased !! |

| JPR Williams would have been my 7th- a very unassuming man who is a medical consultant in Cardiff and hardly seen on rugby media now. |

| WBB, I'm sure Graham Hill will be thrilled to be one of your sporting heroes, as a commentator for WCCC on Radio H&W he may also be shocked. LOL |

| You can probably tell my era by my more recent heroes. My 6 would be: Eric Cantona Peter Schmeichel Michael Atherton Marcus Trescothick Curtly Ambrose Jonny Wilkinson I could have quite easily picked others from different sports (Colin Montgomerie, Damon Hill, Jimmy White or Phil 'The Power' Taylor) |

Rimmer, Swain, Gary Williams, Evans, McNaught, Bremner, Mortimer, Cowans, Morley, Shaw and Withe (including his shin!). Colin Gibson as full back and not forgetting Nigel Spink. 'Shaw, Williams, prepared to venture down the left. There's a good ball in for Tony Morley. Oh, it must be and it is! It's Peter Withe'! |
