An excellent signing this.

He will have things to prove, not like the usual overseas player who takes his foot off the gas when playing for a county.

Great work Bumpy in securing this fella

Check these out. Looks as though we have an excellent replacement for Davies at the top of the innings.

Its a dreadfull stat. But here you go.

Theres an obscure allrounders stat called a Woodie. This is when an allrounder takes at least 5 wickets in the match and makes a score of 30 or over in one of his innings. So 2-for 50 and 3 for 60 plus 31 is a woodie (I got this off the Cricket Society newsletter by the way).

Recently Shakib achieved this feat in 5 tests matches in a row. .

No other all rounder in test history - not Botham, not Sobers, not Imran, not anyone - has ever done this more than 3 tests in a row.

Sorry you asked now Id bet

I can't think of a better way of assessing an all rounder. He clearly is the greatest of all time! Smile

Great news, lets all get behind the management and team and hope that this is the start of building a side that does us proud.

Its named after a player - but I cant remember who or why.

Its embarrassing enough to know a stat like this anyway.

This is an unexpected development and may turn out to be very good one indeed.
I'm very pleased.

I would say that this is an excellent and imaginative signing for you - he probably also has the added advantage of being quite cheap!

p.s Kim has been boring me with that Woodie stat for a few months now!

I think cheap is all relative in this day and age - an OSP is an OSP

Hmmm - does this mean our May to June signing (until Cox is available) will be an OS WK/Bat without ICL commitments or an Aussie opening bat or a seamer + a domestic covering WK to be signed?

I agree with Simon an excellent and imaginative signing who is also probably quite cheap.

I believe that now means Worcestershire have no fewer than FOURTEEN players out of 22 under the age of 25! The fourteen I have are:

M Ali
Cox
Jones
Kapil
Kervezee
Leach
Manuel
Pardoe
Pinner
Russell
Shakib Al-Hasan
Shantry
Wheeldon
Whelan

which is five more than Sussex and a lot more than some counties!

If you want a wicketkeeper who can open what about Tim Paine?

Robinson must love his Sussex fans, constantly on other clubs' fora giving their players away

.. which is why i reacted earlier - but in this case Tim Paine is the Aussie keeper who took over from Haddin when he got injured
