Obviously an incredible achievement, although I hadn't realised
176 of the 800 were against non entities Zimbabwe and Bangladesh compared to his 54 against Australia.

I have heard this stat quite frequently and do appreciate Murali has taken his wickets against some of the lesser nations. In comparison Warne has taken only 17 wickets against Zim and Bang, so quite a big difference. However as Murali has no input into the International fixture list I don't see how he can be blamed for this.

A more interesting stat I think, would be to work out the number of dismissals for each position in the batting order the two bowlers have claimed in their Test careers. If I have time later I will try and work it out, assuming Asia Exile doesn't beat me to it first!
