Interesting chap. Recently read his autobiography, "Over the Top", which tells of his time in prison for fraud, as well as his cricketing career. I'm sure we all wish him a quick recovery.

PS Perhaps it was the sight of GBs legendary doosra that caused his problem?

Danish Kaneria believed to be one of two Essex players involved in 'spot fixing' allegations

English cricket is bracing itself for one of its biggest scandals, with the shocking news that police are investigating allegations of “match irregularities” in county cricket last season.

Telegraph Sport has been conducting its own investigation for some time and after it had made some queries to Essex Police yesterday morning, the England & Wales Cricket Board suddenly issued a brief statement from Essex Police yesterday evening stating that inquiries are currently being conducted into the actions of two Essex players, one of whom is believed to be Pakistan's leg-spinner Danish Kaneria, in a match last season.
